Our Federation

The general purpose of the Columbia Jewish Federation (CJF) is to further the welfare of the Jewish community in Columbia, South Carolina, and throughout the world.

We provide financial support to the spectrum of Jewish organizations serving the Midlands, including the religious schools of our local synagogues; Hillel at the University of South Carolina; the Cutler Jewish Day School; Jewish Programs at the Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center (JCC); Camp Gesher at the JCC and many more.

CJF runs the PJ Library program for young children, hosts the Columbia Holocaust Education Commission, features a thriving Young Adult Division and welcomes brand-new members of the community with the Shalom Baby! Program.

The Columbia Jewish Federation also houses Jewish Family Service, which provides a full range of needed services to Jewish households facing hardship.
